Voice authentication

Voice authentication enables people to verify their identity when calling us or accessing online services. This was first introduced in August 2014. By 30 June 2016, almost 2 million people had enrolled their voiceprint.

We integrated voice authentication into the ATO app, enabling taxpayers to log into their ATO accounts more easily on the go. Where taxpayers accessed ATO online services via the ATO app and had registered their voiceprint, 64% used their voiceprint to authenticate.
