Even with the most advanced digital services and the most tailored public advice, many taxpayers need personalised binding advice from the ATO to provide certainty on more complex tax issues.
We are improving the way we provide advice to individual taxpayers (and their intermediaries) – for example, through:
- easier and direct access to our tax experts and a more personalised service
- quicker response times and better two-way interactions.
During 2015–16, we also wrote to over 500,000 individuals who had lodged straightforward tax returns to tell them that their returns were finalised and would not be reviewed.
