The ATO property portfolio is managed in accordance with the Commonwealth property management framework.
We currently occupy 37 buildings, with 26 of these under active management. We have reduced unused and vacant space by:
- managing 15 co-location/sub-lease arrangements with other Commonwealth entities
- consolidating our presence by partial building surrenders and sub-leases in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Newcastle, Parramatta and Townsville.
The ATO is leasing and fitting out a building in Gosford, New South Wales to lead and support a 2014 Budget measure. The site is expected to open for occupation in late 2017. The Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) and the ATO first collaborated in 2015 to deliver a new ACIC Corporate Head Office in the Parliamentary Triangle of Canberra, delivering a 4,358m2 A-grade commercial office building with quality environmentally sustainable work environments. The ATO has since taken on another project on behalf of ACIC to expand their fit-out in the Corporate Head Office and manage the building under a shared service arrangement.
